"I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot- and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life...and that is why I succeed."

I am looking forward to another great year of exploring the visual arts with our amazing students! Parents, guardians, and students, this site has been designed to be used as a resource for students in Art I, Art II, Studio and AP Portfolio classes. This is a place to provide you with the resources needed to be successful at all times in art. It is not all-inclusive though and some information may be found at the CCS website, www. ccs.k12.va.us. Often times students and parents ask "Why should I take art?"
ART is an amazing and exciting world that has been one of the oldest and most important means for people to communicate and express their beliefs and experiences. The study of art not only allows for a safe place to express oneself, communicate, explore, and create but to better understand various cultures and histories that surround us. The study of art is an excellent means for strengthening ones problem solving abilities as well as critical thinking skills in all aspects of life!
